Global Coop Identity Mark
We were selected by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) to carry out global audience research and deliver a new identity mark and guidelines for coop enterprises around the world.
We designed a 22-question survey in three languages, receiving more than 1,000 responses from 89 countries. Analysis and interpretation of the survey data informed the design of the mark, colourways and typography, usage guidelines, key messages and development of signature images. In addition to this, Calverts comprehensively rebranded the Alliance itself, and a brand system for its regional, sectoral and thematic bodies.
As Director of Communications for the International Co-operative Alliance, I did a global search for an agency to deliver a new brand for co-operatives to use. Around 30 organisations from Europe, America and Asia declared an interest in the project, interviews were conducted and Calverts won the tender. The COOP Marque is now used by co-operatives in 105 countries.
