We designed and prined the Hospital Heroes workbook for King’s College London Outreach for Medicine. Hospital Heroes after school clubs give Key Stage 3 pupils the opportunity to learn about careers in medicine and find out about the experience of studying at university.
We worked with the staff team to help come up with an appealing, exciting name for the character ideas they had created, and then developed the superhero theme through original illustrations which brought the characters to life with small details in their costumes and associated symbols.
Through the lively, colourful, accessible illustrations and design we aimed to create a look and feel that would be engaging for younger pupils in this age group while not seeming too childish.
We used gradients and background patterns to add texture and pace to the workbook design, emphasising the distinct themed sections through the use of icons and colours.
