Fine art books and catalogues are some of the most demanding print products we make. Good colour management and repro, a clear and economical path for proofing key images and pages, top notch litho or digital printing and accurate finishing all come into play.
Spurred on by Octavia Reeve at the Royal College of Art, we submitted four pieces of work for this year’s PrintWeek Awards in the Fine Art Printers category – and just heard that Calverts have been voted as finalists by the judging panel.
The RCA Show 2011 catalogue, designed by Kellenberger White and featuring their own display font KW Black, was our first entry; we also submitted the JAMM Arts catalogue, commissioned by a fine art auction house in Kuwait City and designed by Sion Phillips; the 31 Studio catalogue of Paul Caffell’s platinum photographic prints; and a catalogue of work by Pierre Soulages, designed by Fraser Muggeridge. The winner will be announced next month, so wish us luck!
