It’s that time of year when we print end of year show materials for many of the art colleges in and around London.
This, for example, is the Wimbledon College of Fine Art degree show catalogue showcasing the work of students graduating in 2014.
With an emphasis on print and time-based media it was essential to produce something “printerly”, something which would capture the diverse range of talent on display to best effect.
By using Claro Bulk paper throughout (an extra bulky “dead” matt coated stock with reduced substance) the catalogue is kept relatively lightweight throughout its 224 pages (this can help save on mailing costs). Without a heavier cover the catalogue opens very flat to make the most of images which cross over a double page spread. Finally a semi-transparent dust jacket wraps round the catalogue keeping the exposed section sewn spine just visible.
