Revelations: Aidan Salakhova at the Saatchi Gallery
We were commissioned to design a catalogue for ‘Revelations’, an exhibition of work by the artist Aidan Salakhova at the Saatchi Gallery in London.
A key challenge was reproducing the effect of the gold that appears in her Persian Miniature series of works on paper, onto the printed page.
By experimenting with Photoshop channel separation and curves, and specifying a Pantone metallic gold ink as part of the print palette, we were able to achieve an almost perfect reproduction of the original work, subtly recalling the effect of illuminated manuscripts.
