This project was conceived as a medical education outreach programme to give Key Stage 3 pupils (11 to 14-year-olds) an opportunity to explore different roles and specialisms in emergency medical care.

We proposed ‘The Busy Body’ as the title of the project and designed an illustration-led workbook, using a bright, contemporary colour palette, a compact A5 format, and a set of fresh, friendly, age-appropriate images. The result is an appealing, accessible document that engages young people in learning about how the body works – with minimum squeamishness and maximum fun.

We also created an animated gif using one of the main illustrations for use in slide presentations, on the project website and in social media.
