A couple of value added applications we used on a recent digital printing job were gloss silver hot foil blocking and die cutting (to create a 'reveal' on the page underneath). We're not allowed to reveal anything about the client, but the print run was just three copies of two pitch documents, both 34cm x 24cm, and they were printed on our KM6000 digital press.
The books mixed a range of paper stocks to stunning effect – Colourplan Manadarin, Naturalis Matt Absolute White, Mohawk Options True White Vellum, Core Gloss Art, Gmund Bier Bock and Lager and Peregrina Classics Midas. They were PUR bound, and we also made an architectural friction-closing, foil blocked paper-over-board presentation case, laser cut and made in an afternoon. The whole project was proofed, printed, finished and delivered in three days.
