ISO 14001
Calverts is currently working towards the ISO 14001 environmental management accreditation.
Green Mark accreditation
Calverts is Greenmark accredited, through meeting the audited requirements of the scheme, which are a working environmental policy, meeting key pieces of environmental legislation and demonstrating that we have taken adequate steps to measure and minimise the overall environmental impact of our business activities. Green Mark is a 3-stage award scheme, developed by the London Environment Centre in partnership with Business Link for London, and delivered by the London Environment Centre. This initiative was funded through the European Regional Development Fund.
FSC certification
Calverts is a Forest Stewardship Council, or FSC certified, printer. This means we can demonstrate that our clients publications have been printed using paper made from well-managed forest products; from 100% post-consumer recycled paper (made in paper mills which are themselves FSC accredited); or from 'mixed source' FSC papers. Our clients can use the FSC claim on their own publications.
Mayor's Green Procurement Code
Calverts is a signatory to the Mayor's Green Procurement Code, delivered by London Remade. London Remade has measured the environmental impact of Calverts' recycled paper purchasing policy. In 2006/7, Calverts customers who used recycled paper (made from post consumer waste that otherwise would have been sent to landfill) collectively saved 107 tonnes of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere, 2.3 million gallons of water and 2071 kg of air pollutants.

To display the SEE logo, businesses must be transparent and accountable. We have undergone a comprehensive evaluation of our performance, and you can read, respond and rate our answers to thirty five questions covering Community impacts, Corporate Governance, Donations and Payments, the Environment, Human Rights, Marketplace Ethics and Workforce standards on the SEE website.
