We worked with King's College London's Widening Participation team to produce a visual identity for their campaign 'King's Scholars'.
Founded in July 2015, the King’s Scholars programme works with year 7-9 pupils from local schools in Lambeth, Southwark and Westminster. The programme aims to encourage pupils from traditionally under represented backgrounds to apply to, and succeed at, top universities. Accordingly, much of the scheme is focused on raising the attainment of these pupils through the use of ‘King’s Scholar Skills’ (a set of metacognitive techniques developed in conjunction with King’s academics). In addition, the initiative aims to provide information, guidance, and reassurance on how to progress to university, and engages parents in pupils’ education.
The visual language draws on doodles in exercise books, while representing some interesting and lesser known attractions at King's, such as the observatory and Kinba, the robot receptionist at Strand Campus.
