What is a co-operative?
A co-op is defined as an association of people who come together to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise. Co-operatives do more than make profits. They are founded on ethical values, and contribute to the good of the wider community.
Calverts is a worker co-operative, with innovative ways of working which maximise the involvement of our employee members. We have equal pay and flexible working, and we manage the business through a process of consensus decision making. Over 30 years, this has made for a productive and profitable graphic design and printing co-op with a highly skilled and motivated membership, using the latest and best equipment, processes and technologies.
