co-operative
History
Calverts is a communications design and printing company, based in Bethnal Green.
Founded in 1977, it is a worker co-operative with 14 members. The firm’s assets are owned in common by the workforce, who are paid equally. All members participate in strategic management, and profits are reinvested in the co-operative or used for community aims.
Calverts specialises in branding, publications and sustainable print. It produces high quality literature for corporate, community, government and arts organisations such as the British Museum, Tate, Arup, 3i, and the Royal College of Arts.

Clients say
"We have never found a supplier so communicative and willing to work in a collaborative way to get the best possible result.
They really understand the environmental and social impact of all the processes they use, and are good at helping us find the most economical and sustainable way to produce work.”
Nat Hunter, Airside
"Calverts are the creative team I'd pick anytime, out of all the agencies I worked with. They have the skill of actually listening to a client and offering practical, high-quality solutions which somehow always fit in with deadlines.”
Suzanne Kendler, CFDG
